We have a 1958 Model 70. Serial 425Xxx. Originally 30-06.. Redone in 308 Norma Mag. The bolt has also been machined to accommodate the bigger case.
We have read that this was quite common in those days ,,,,to have your rifle upgraded to a more powerful shell. In order to hunt North America’s biggest game. Or take your rifle to Africa.
Has scope mounts on it. Sling pins. Steel has a few blemishes, nicks, etc. Stock is in beautiful shape. Can send more photos to a cell or email.
