Beautiful piece of history. Original Winchester early serial number production from late ‘42. Post war usage by the LandPolizei of Bavaria (Bavarian Rural Police).
Original flip rear peep aperture
Early type 1 band and high wood stock
Early mid war oval shaped rear stock cut out for oiler with time correct “IS” stamped original oiler
Early front hand guard with the 2 rivots
Correct flat top bolt and slide blued as original

Winchester markings proof mark oblong circle plus letter W in top of barrel.
Bavarian rural police issue for Landpolizei as stamped into bottom of stock handgrip along with the “Bavarian Rural Police” stamping on the left side of the receiver being ground off and filled in- which was correct- hard to see on pics but it’s there
Last four digits of serial number marked on to the rear stock, top of bolt and right slide.
