Trapdoor rifles were introduced in late half of the 19th century in US to adopt cartridge ammo. This piece of history is a model 1873 in caliber 45-70 black powder. It’s in good condition for the age. Brown patina covered metal parts and no major damage on the wood. US markings clear. Stock cartouche on the wrist is faint but still visible. Action and ejector working very well. Bore is still shine, would be a good shooter although I haven’t shot it myself. Someone dropped a bit green paint at the buttplate. You can remove it by paint stripper. Asking $1450, shipping on buyer if needed.
