I don't often use the word rare when describing a firearm, but this iconic "Click-Clack" or "Gill" gun fits that word and does not disappoint. Made during the 1940's, Springfield produced this in the style of the US M1 Garand. #87 of 300 made, this collector's piece would be a fantastic addition to any discerning collector. Drilled and tapped on the left side of receiver for a scope mount if chosen, this example comes with the "Reising" style rear peep sight. Detractors are a filled hole where a rear sling swivel would've been as well as an incorrect front screw where a front sling swivel would've been.
I've taken this one apart and removed the 80+ years of dried oil, grease and powder cake. Test fired with 5 rounds of AE standard velocity, the rifle functioned flawlessly. Asking is $1150, respectful offers considered. Cross posted
