Imperial Tula Ordnance Factory 1898 Moisin Nagant
Finnish capture with the “SA” in rectangle stamp (see photo).
Barrel VG, original Russian one piece wood stock, Matching bolt, no visible mis- match numbers, no force match.
Exceptional, I believe never rebuilt. We see the rear sight was in the old Imperial Russian units “arshins “, recalibrated on the right side in meters. This is correct and consistent. I believe the sight recalibration was performed at unit armourer level not at Arsenal. The Arshin unit of measure was never used in Finland. The Arshin was prohibited in Soviet Union 1925, was never used by Finland.
The wood stock appears original as the Finns replaced these with two piece stocks when they rebuilt these rifles , implying this wood is either original to the gun or if it ever was replaced, it would have been prior the winter war capture (replaced by Russians not Finns).
I may remove wood to photo all the interior if anyone is interested.
Includes non matching but correct bayonet with similar serial range.
I avoid bargaining, instead I lower price with time.
