Original Percussion Lock (converted from flintlock) - GILLET maker

Original Gillet maker percussion lock. This was clearly was a contemporary conversion from Flintlock, with the pan being filled down.

The internals for the lock are excellent and it has a strong main spring, holding half and full cock with ease. 

A faint maker engraving "GILLET" is visible, showing it was an original Flintlock or English origin.
