Parting with my extremely reliable, mechanically flawless, Colt Thunderer. With long 5" barrel and ejector, and a rock solid lockup when firing, she's a force to be reckoned with on the range. Call, text, or email for more info. Comes with FRT antique papers, a leather holster with 12 round ammo pouch, and I can work ammo into the deal if wanted.
The 1877 line of revolvers was Colt's first double action model ever produced. They made almost 170,000 from 1877 to 1909 with three main designations: the Colt "Lightning" in .38 LC, the "Thunderer" in .41 LC, and the "Rainmaker" in .32. However, due to Canada's laws, only the .41 caliber ones are designated as "antique". This is one of those guns, and it needs no registration or licensing to own.
This particular one (SN 62xxx) was produced in about 1885. All parts match. The exterior retains about 75% of the original nickel and is generally clean. The grips are solid, with slight rubbing wear on high points from many years passing from hand to hand. This is one of the models with a fixed ejector rod, which makes case removal far easier. The barrel is stamped with the Hartford Connecticut Colt address and "COLT 41 D.A.". The left side of the frame displays the 3 line 1871, 1874, and 1875 patents. It reads "41 CAL" on the trigger guard. Antique loaded .41 Long Colt rounds can be purchased from www.rustywood.ca.
I make no claims about the safety of shooting ANY antique. Check with a gunsmith.
