Amazing third model US martially marked Colt Dragoon in 44 Caliber, this revolver was the successor to the famed Walker. Very similar in design, with some updates, this revolver has a 7.5" barrel and weighs over 4 pounds. These are known as Horse Revolvers, mainly because they were often carried in holsters on mounts vs. on the hip due to size.

These revolvers are very rare in Canada, and finding one all Matching (like this) with martial marking and stock cartouches visible is extremely difficult. This revolver is mostly gunmetal grey, with some case hardening visible on the loading lever and the frame. The Wedge still shows some nitre bluing in the protected serialized area. This example is made even better by the unit/rack number stamped on the butt of the grip strap. cylinder scene shows some of famous Ranger vs. Native scene, as well as US Model writing (and serial number, of course).

These highly coveted revolvers were used through the 1850s and through the Civil War. Far more desirable than a Colt Navy or Army revolver.

Priced very reasonably at $7,500 shipped. Please see US prices for context. EMT preferred. Only potential trades are for/towards high end WW2 German Militaria.
