Remington Late 3rd Model , Engraved .38 RF Beauty . Deposits accepted😎

Antique Status 

Remington Smoot likely 1880’s late 3rd model .38RF ( short ?) 5 shot , cyl measures 1 3/16” . “ saw handle “ butt , 3 3/4” octagon barrel with rib . Last pat . Oct 21 1873 . Index’s etc just fine . 
Now ….. what sets this gem apart from others is Highly Likely New York Engraved . Stipple and Germanic floral design , in remarkable sharp , clear condition . I see NO evidence of it being a re nickel . Which then begs the difficult determination if it is factory . I have been unable to establish that at time of this listing . ( might change 😎) Has some finish wear on the cylinder to maybe 65% . The frame , barrel etc is a solid 80%+ . Cyl chamber walls look very good as does the bore from what I can see . Serial number is located on the inner bottom frame and match’s number on the inner top strap . 23xxx

Grips are terrific . Only blemish ( see pics ) for what ever reason some gouging around frame , hammer area . Also seems evident a replacement hammer spring at some point . 
Comes with a 1890’s -1910 period holster 😎 period leather is quite scarce .
