Hopkins & Allen XL No5 revolver. Early 3 digit serial number. Chambered in 38 Rimfire, 2.5" barrel, 5 shot. These spur trigger rf's were very popular back in the day because you got compact personal defense that was 25% the size of a bulkier large framed revolver, making these popular among businessmen and women. The action on this piece functions excellent. All 3 hammer clicks work well. Timing and lockup are excellent. Bore and cylinder walls rate very good. Original wood grips are in great shape. Original nickel finish retains 95% +. This model is great as it has the cylinder safety notches so the hammer striker can rest between chambers thus offering complete safety while carrying.
