Savage Arms Company, Model 1899 (Take-Down variant).
Caliber: .250-3000 Savage. The first commercial cartridge to reach over 3000fps.
Serial Number: 176701 (stamped on the lower frame tang), which places its manufacture around 1915–1916.
Action & Design: Rotary magazine lever-action with a take-down action mechanism.
Stock & Furniture: Pistol grip walnut stock with checkering at the wrist and forend, capped pistol grip, and a steel buttplate.
Sights: Rear folding leaf sight mounted on the barrel dovetail; top tang drilled/tapped with an aftermarket or period tang sight blank/plate installed.
Condition Notes: Original bluing has faded to a natural patina/in-the-white finish on the receiver and barrel. Shows light surface wear, honest handling marks on the wood, and chip/repair area behind the top tang. Bore shows some shine remaining, but has what appears to be some pitting and some scratches in areas. Still very much functional and usable.
