Hello gents, up for grabs is a Transition Era 1949 Winchester Model 70 sporter. 24" barrel, 30-06.
This rifle has been professionally refinished and appears to have not been used since restoration. It appears to have been rust blued. The checkering has been redone, with the stock receiving what I believe to be a classic oil finish. It is wearing an equal condition Lyman 48 WJS with hunter turrets - this is the variant with the cutout, so no modification is required on the stock. The original 22G rear sight and 3C elevator will be included, and the Lyman can be included for $400. A McCarbo trigger spring has been installed, but the original trigger spring will also be included.
This is a gorgeous rifle that shows as new, and represents the very best of Winchester.
