Winchester XPR .308 with 4-16x42 Diamondback HP

Used Winchester XPR chambered in .308 for sale. Comes with Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x42 scope.

Functions and shoots excellently, clean bore, very accurate, have taken several Deer and 2 Black Bear with it. Currently about an inch high at 100 yards with Hornady American Whitetail 165 grain.

I filled the stock with expanding foam a few years ago to get rid of the cheap empty milk jug sound from the stock. Sounds much nicer and dense now. 

Full disclosure: I just recently stripped it down and painted it with Satin Black hit-temp automotive brake caliper aerosol. I think it came out pretty good. The last step of the process was to bake it at 200°F for 20 minutes, which gave it a nice hard finish. I’ve used it for hunting the last few years in the rainforest of Vancouver Island and it was developing surface rust in a couple spots. It’s been used for hunting for a few years: couple marks here and there, not in brand new mint condition. More pics available upon request. 

After painting, on reassembly scope bases were loctited and torqued to spec, action torqued to spec, scope levelled and rings torqued to spec.  

The XPR (made by Browning for sister company Winchester) is often regarded as the highest quality option in the budget rifle category. It uses the same MOA trigger as the Winchester Model 70 (not a twin blade deal like so many budget rifles), the same In-Flex cushy butt pad as the Browning X-bolt, and a nickel and teflon coated 3 lug bolt with a short 60° lift.
