Up for sale is a historical, collector-grade 1918 Italian Carcano M91 Cavalleria (Cavalry) Carbine, manufactured during World War I by Fabbrica Nazionale d'Armi Brescia.

This rifle carries exceptional dual-war provenance. Produced in the final year of WWI, it saw heavy wartime field service before being sent to the Regia Fabbrica d'Armi di Roma (Rome Arsenal) in 1921 for official post-war refurbishment, making it primed for re-issue through WWII. Finding an early WWI-era Carcano carbine that retains its original matching walnut stock, crisp arsenal cartouches, and a pristine bore is exceptionally difficult in today's surplus market.

Key Stamps & Provenance

WWI Barrel Shank Markings: Stamped BRESCIA, 1918, and prefix serial V 5822 on the octagonal shank.

1921 Roma Refurbishment Cartouche: Deeply struck round stock roundel featuring the House of Savoy Shield and R. FABB. DI ARMI ROMA 1921, documenting its post-WWI arsenal overhaul.

Matching Serial Numbers: Original walnut stock is stamped V 5822, matching the barrel shank and action assembly.

Original Hardware: Complete with its functional integral folding spike bayonet, push-button latching mechanism, rear ladder sight, and side sling mounts.

Bore & Mechanical Condition

Bore Condition: Excellent. Unlike the vast majority of military-issued Carcanos with dark or worn rifling, this bore is bright and shiny with deep, razor-sharp lands and grooves throughout.

Action: Smooth bolt travel, positive lockup, and clean mechanical operation.

Wood: Original dense walnut stock with deep patina, authentic field-use character, and zero structural cracks.
