Swedish FSR-96 (militia sniper program rifle)

*OBO* These are really neat rifles with a good bit of history behind them. 
Basically Sweden had a volunteer marksmanship program where they would sell you a rifle and you would participate in state organized competitions, this was to encourage marksmanship and fund defence related projects like bunkers etc. 

The rifles were hand selected and were particularly accurate examples. 
The owners had to keep them in officially sanctioned condition and were only allowed to make modifications specified in the programs rules. These mods were things like the VERY nice and very capable diopter sights, different angled grips and a few other minor changes.  
While Swede Mausers are rightfully known as being pretty much the best quality and most accurate milsurp rifles ever made, these are the absolute “Cadillac” of the “Cadillac”.

This rifle in particular is in great shape, the rifling is very nice, it’s almost completely matching but the safety tang is mismatched (the very important things match like the receiver and bolt etc.) The crown is excellent and accuracy wise we’ve been able to consistently get SUB MOA with it with both factory and custom loaded ammo. 
The sights on this are Swedish Sjoldern diopter rear sights with a very nice sjoldern front post (instead of the far more common front diopter which is less desirable for MOST people, these sights alone are worth half the rifle lol.) 

It’s chambered in 6.5x55 which is very commonly available at basically all gun stores and you can even get bulk bags of it which is awesome. 6.5x55 performance wise is like a more powerful creed more with a lot more loading options and aside from the excellent range, accuracy and BC, it also is capable of taking down pretty much any animal you could want (at the turn of the last century there was this famous safari hunter who took down HUNDREDS of elephants with 6.5x55 and the mannicher equivalent) it actually has VERY similar stats to the US’s new .277 fury/6.8x51 with many factory or custom loads moving faster and with more energy but with literally 30,000 PSI less chamber pressure.considering this cartridge was developed in the late 1890s and its keeping up with the newest technology while being the most popular hunting cartridge in Europe the Swedes really knew what they were doing.
