I have, for sale, a 1960 vintage Savage Model 99 in 300 Savage. It has a 24 inch barrel and a 5 round internal magazine. It is in good condition. There is some bluing loss on the barrel and freckling on the receiver where it's been hand carried. It also has a very small crack starting where the top of the receiver meets the wood. This is a common issue with this model. I sent the gun to a gunsmith and had the crack stabilized with epoxy. It has it's original sling swivels and Weaver scope mounts. The bore is bright and the action is smooth. It was probably carried more than shot. As are most hunting rifles.
The asking price is $850. As always I welcome a face to face transaction in and around Orono, Ontario but I am willing to ship at buyer's expense.
The buyer's PAL will be verified as per the RCMP mandate.
For a face to face transaction, I have ammunition that can be worked into a deal.
Make no mistake, this gun would factor well into hunting this fall. Deer, moose or bear!
