So here it is back up for sale. When I say excellent I mean "mechanically". It has a blemish here and there.
According to Colt this rifle was manufactured as part of a non-military contract for a buyer in the U.S.
This jives with the details of how it arrived in Canada.
It is pictured with an after market butt. The correct butt will be reattached to the rifle and/or shipped with the unit. You get both.
It has not been fired much because it did not work. It would only fire one round and then have to be manually cocked. Gas key problem fixed for less that $100.00. Thanks to Juliet Hotel who had the only spare key and hex bolts in existence at the time.
I know it is hard to believe that at one time there were no spare parts for this rifle just like at one time there was no ammunition available the VZ58V 12.2 I also own.
Actually the second part is a lie. After many hours on a real land line telephone ( no cells either) I found 7 boxes of Czech ammo, on stripper clips, in a country that will remain nameless. Why, because I am not sure of when the statute of limitations expires.
The price has indeed gone up, because the accessories have multiplied.
What these accessories are will only be disclosed to the purchaser.
Suffice it to say they are all legal and worth twice the added price.
If the purchaser can legitimately show I am not correct then they will get their money back.
All the details are as before. There are no sub model numbers on the receiver. It has all the proper "COLT" markings and Colt verified that it was a correct serial number.
If you want it deactivated anyone can buy it.
If you want it functioning you "MUST HAVE 12.2 ON YOUR XII PAL". (TWO UP FROM A PAL AND ONE UP FROM A RPAL) This applies to businesses as well.
The transfer will be done properly thru Miramichi.
In order to have 12.2 on your PAL you must have been over 18 years of age prior to January 01, 1978. So if I did my gazintas correctly your birthday must be prior to December 31, 1960. This does not apply to a business owner.
Yes I have written much of this tongue in cheek, the parts that refer to the "LEGALITIES" are written in stone.
The part about value, not so much.
You can ask any questions and I will be happy to answer them. In some case the answer will be in the form of a "Thing that protects a .25c piece being returned".
Thanks
Roy
