Swedish M1896 Mauser Bayonet, w/ Frog and Scabbard

Howdy gunpost. I have a nice looking Swedish bayonet along with the scattered and leather frog.

These will fit the m96 Swedish long rifle and it should fit the m38 carbines and will also fit on the now prohibited AG42 Ljungman rifles as well.

The bayonet and scabbard do not match which is pretty typical.

This bayonet has been restored in my opinion. Someone has polished up the blade and painted the scabbard and handle part of the blade with some black paint. They did a pretty good job of it. And it seems to be holding up very well. It doesn't look like it's flaking off at all. And the leather frog is an overall very good condition, especially considering its age. The belt loop type fastener on the one edge is a little bit afraid and worn but still works. It appears just the very upper layer of the leather is starting to separate ever so slightly. And there's a little bit of vertigree on the brass rivets where the belt loop is on the frog. A little bit of leather restore or mink oil may improve the condition of the leather. The scabbard has a dent in it at the base. This could be hammered out if you so desired. It doesn't affect the function of the scabbard and the blade comes in and out. No problem without contacting the bent part at all. The blade has one small chip in it. Other than that, the blade itself is tip top.
