This Opinel No. 9 folding knife dates to the late 1950s and features the Virobloc Twisting Safety Ring which was invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel.

The No. 9 model signifies that it has a 9 cm. (3.51") blade, this blade is carbon steel. The No. 9 model is a little harder to find.

The knife is in nice condition.

It has a beechwood handle, as mentioned a carbon steel blade and a unique twist locking system as pictured. It twists left or right depending on your dexterity.

The knife is 8 1/2" open and 4 3/4" closed.

The safety ring is stamped "No. 9 Viroblanc Brevete".

The blade is stamped "Opinel" with the appropriate crowned hand logo.
