FOR SALE - 1867 SNIDER AMMUNITION CRATE

This is a military wooden crate built in 1867 and shipped to Canada from the British Army. It was designed for 577 Snider rifle ammunition and is clearly marked as same. it weighs close to 10 pounds and is made from 1/2  pine I believe. It measures 15 inches long, 7 inches wide and 8 1/2 deep. The crate is complete with all marking and the trap door is in place. This is a very rare piece of military history. It came from  a private collector near Fort Garry in Winnipeg. You will see a similar wood ammo box in the movie ZULU. (That was for the 450 Martini Enfield)
