Mauser 98 detachable magazine

Okay, I don't seem to be able to figure this mag out. The second round always goes nose down. Maybe that plastic thing at the back needs to be removed for long action rounds. I don't own M98 so not really interested in solving this puzzle.

Retails for about $70, can be yours for $25 + $20 shipping. Will not fit in bubble mailer :(
