Colt 1911 & Para Ordnance P-14 Canadian made quality slide Forgings (not castings)

Colt 1911 & Para Ordnance P-14 quality slide Forgings from the days of a quality product produced in Canada. These are not castings and the metallurgy as already been verified as very good by Charlie Pulit of Novaks in West Virginia (their volumes are low and they are only set up to machine from billet, and don’t have time to machine from forgings with the higher profit sight business booming)

These forgings could be used either for Colt Government pattern 1911 pistols or the Original Para Ordnance P-14 pistols. There are three options in either 4140 Chrome Moly or 420 stainless steel

4140 CM Hardness 25-28. These were annealed for machinability

420SS Hardness 25-28 Rc These were annealed for machinability.

420SS Hardness 36–39 Rc

I have two pages or forging drawings for machining set up of this carefully contoured forging and will provide them with paid order. A person that buys at least slide forging will get the drawings and an actual slide forging offered as below

Cost is $30.00 for one or $25.00 for 2 or more. Shipping is $22.60 for a Canada Post Flat Rate Box that will ship up to three slide forgings at 1.2kgs each for the same shipping cost. Other quantities is another matter.

N.B. The production of this forging into a fully qualified slide takes a highly skill machinist and proper, precision machine tools. Inviting your machinist neighbor over for a pizza & beer party after work will not cut it. Greater people have tried and failed. Caveat Emptor.  A single slide forging also makes a conversation piece or an outstanding paperweight for your desk with a firearm theme. I don’t recommend it being used when the pizza & beer party escalates to mixed drinks and gets out of hand! )
