Howdy Gunpost! I have for sale a truly unique and awesome Antique Status, 38 Special and custom conversion of a Colt New Navy DA. It saddens me to let this thing go after all of the work I put into being able to use and shoot this gun legally and all of the extensive Gunsmithing required to put it together. But I have moved on to other things now.
Sometime in the near future if this thing doesn't get sold quickly, although I highly doubt that it will stick around too long. I may make a video on this gun and I'll put it onto YouTube and show footage of it shooting. I have some targets somewhere around here with some really good groups I shot with this thing using standard off the shelf ammunition. I can send you a photo if you're interested. However, in the meantime I'll try my best to explain everything in words.
In essence what this was: was a Colt New Navy commercial model made in 1894 in .41 Long Colt calibre with a nickel finish and hard rubber grips. It's the last production year of the 1889 and it features many of the upgrades and improvements that were made to the 92 and 89 double actions in service of the US military.
I do have all of the original 41 caliber components and the original hard rubber grips which are in very good condition. You could always reverse all these modifications by threading back the original barrel, replacing the cylinder back with the original and putting the original grips on as well. You could reverse everything and put this more or less back to its original factory configuration if you wanted to. So I will sell the original parts to the buyer of this revolver for an additional $200. And if you don't want them that's fine I can sell them for more to someone else as parts.
I will include with the sale a dossier that I made for this gun . It includes a copy of the FRN for this firearm and the highlighted entry that is specific to this particular individual firearm. It also includes a copy of the legislation, regulation, and historical litigation pertaining to antique firearms and a couple other things. There's also a copy of the FRN for the model 1892 which is cross reference to the FRN for the 1889 and has some very interesting Canadian law comments from the RCMP themselves specifically stating how firearms in this configuration are antique.
The revolver is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Or I can ship it nationwide on the buyer's dime.
I can do Alberta meetups too. It depends on the time of year though.
