*sale pending* this is a quintessential piece of British revolver history. The Adams M/1872 .450/.455 solid frame revolver was made by John Adams, brother of Robert Adams who invented the first practical self-cocking (double action) revolver - the Beaumont-Adams. This 1872 is a slightly improved centerfire adaptation of the Beaumont-Adams. It shoots .455 Webley in single or double action with great reliability. Fiocchi .455 Webley loads can be purchased online, or if you're interested I can get this milled to chamber .45 ACP (LOW PRESSURE LOAD ONLY) and make shooting this handgun more accessible. You can buy this with no registration or licensing if over the age of 18.

This piece is in great mechanical shape. All aspects function as intended including the action, timing, cylinder, loading gate, ejector rod, and cylinder pin removal system. It works great in single and double action with a solid lockup when firing (almost no wiggle). The lanyard ring (which screws in and is often lost over time) is still present.

The barrel is marked "ADAMS'S PATENT SMALL ARMS Co., 391, STRAND, LONDON". The right side is marked "ADAMS'S PATENTS" with John Adams' initials and "TRADE MARK". All serials match 128XX on the frame and cylinder, with the last 3 digits 8XX marked on the cylinder and stamped inside the grip. The rifling is still present in the approx 5" barrel.
