This is a antique Pattern 1799 Eliott Light Dragoon Pistol. This is a .69 caliber flintlock pistol with a 9” barrel. This pistol is marked with a “Crown over GR” below the frizzen pan for King George III of England (1760-1801) forward of that is a “Broad Arrow/Crown”. To the rear of the hammer is marked “Tower”. 2 proof marks are found on the barrel. There is light pitting and dings found throughout. The stock has light dings found throughout with a small crack at the left side plate. Mechanics are crisp, this pistol holds both half and full cock without issue.
The Pattern 1799 saw use in both the Napoleonic Wars and the War of 1812. This pistol would make a great addition to any flintlock or British arms collection.
