This is the scarcer Mod.1874, often called "officer's model". The mod.1873 are much more common than the '74.   There is a high probability that it is a commercial licensed copy made in Belgium. It has the fluted cylinder and a most rare take down lever on the right side of the frame as opposed to the more common screw on the left side.  This particular pistol has been nickeled and is now chambered in .455 Webley (much easier to obtain)  from the original 11mm French ordnance caliber.  The action is crisp and clean with all operations, advance, timing, and lock up, being excellent.  The chambers are excellent and the  bore is clean with good rifling.  Sadly, very few stamps and serial numbers remain.  I believe a lot were scrubbed when the pistol was buffed for the application of the nickel.  These pistols are slightly smaller and more handy than the bulkier 1873's. This should be a very good shooter.  Though no PAL is required, I would ask that any potential buyer be over 18.  I will eat the shipping with a flat rate box. It also comes with the FRT sheet.
