Antique Swedish Nagant M1887 Service Revolver, .32 S&W long/short / 7.5mm Swedish Ordnance, RARE Husqvarna Made
Nagant received a contract from the Swedish government in 1890 to produce their new officers' service revolver. Some 9,700 were made in Belgium before Nagant turned over production to Husqvarna, Sweden's state arsenal, in 1897. Only the first 350 Husqvarna marked M1887 revolvers were manufactured before 1 January 1898, and are therefore of antique status in Canada.
This one bears serial number 224, and was therefore manufactured in 1897. It is in excellent original condition, complete with the lanyard and holster. It also includes a rare service tool for this revolver. The gun is functionally accurate and strong, with an excellent action and tight lock-up. The arsenal finish is100% intact, with sharp markings and numbers. The bore of the 4 1/2 inch barrel is excellent and bright, with sharp rifling. The walnut grips are excellent and undamaged, with good checkering. The holster is in very good condition. SN 224, excellent overall. These ones are very hard to find.
