Rare Egyptian contract Remington 1875 in its original unaltered 7.5 inch barrel length, was common to cut them down as shorter barrel lengths weren't offered. About 12-14k of these early models were in 44 Remington so are legal as antiques.
The revolver has a darkened outer patina but a surprisingly good bore with strong rifling and only minor pinpricks of oxidation. The cylinders are completely spotless on the inside and in superb shape. Function wise the gun cycles and locks up great however there is slight movement with the stop and the frame(no wiggle with stop to cylinder lockup) which can be easily fixed by a gunsmith.
Markings are all clearly visible and sharp, original wood grips fully intact. Overall a really cool gun and a competitor alternative to a Colt SAA while having a more robust feel due to the larger frame and thicker top strap and also being a single solid piece frame over the colt.
Ammo wise you can reload with 44 colt brass or possibly even a swaged down 45 ACP (.447 vs 451) if the uberti 45 ACP cylinder fits.
