An antique John Brasher flintlock pocket pistol of London. Dates to the late 1700s. Smooth bore barrel is very good and removes easily, tightens snugly. The barrel threading is strong and in very good condition. Strong action and in very good condition overall. The trigger crisply snaps open when cocked to prevent snags and folds up. Sterling silver at the base of the grip with hallmarks, and exhibits fine engraving. Walnut grip is solid and in very nice shape. A tight .50 caliber, as it is meant to be loaded without a patch by taking off the barrel to load the shot (as opposed to being loaded from the muzzle). A fine historic specimen.
