Antique Stevens New Model Pocket Rifle in exceptional condition. .32 short rimfire calibre, completely original with all matching numbers.
15000 of these "bicycle" rifles were manufactured between 1875 and 1896 by J. Stevens of Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. This model has a 15 inch barrel, rosewood grips, and a matching shoulder stock. The serial number on the shoulder stock matches the pistol, and the condition is also excellent. The serial number indicates mid 1880s production.
The original finish remains over almost all the pistol, indicating very little use. The bore is very good with strong rifling. Unlike many of these rifles, the bore is clean and shiny. Mechanically excellent and tight. Plating is strong and clean.
Most of the time pocket rifles are found in tired condition. You would be hard pressed to upgrade this example.
Trades considered for antique percussion or flint pistols. I am also interested in Commonwealth militaria. Free shipping.
