German Model 1879 Reichsrevolver, manufactured by S&S VCS CGH arms consortium in Suhl Germany, 7 1/8" barrel, 6 shot. Chambered in 11mm German Ordnance which is equivalent to the more common 44 Russian, 44 Russian is readily available and what most use in the Reichsrevolvers. This piece isn't a safe queen and is priced accordingly, but it's in excellent mechanical operational condition. Half and full cock work well. Timing and lockup are excellent and solid. Bore shows wear/pits along with surface scaling that should clean up better. Original grips show age shrinkage, there's a repair on left panel near center grommet, lanyard ring is intact. Cylinder pin and release screw are in good shape. Unique German military unit markings at bottom of the handle that should make for interesting research. Safety lever is not present which is not a concern as the Reichsrevolver safeties are not practical. Sideplate has 2 screw holes that are bored bit bigger with non original screws, loading gate is likely from a different 1879, it's spring is light and it doesn't close fully tight. Again not a safe queen, has great mechanics and priced accordingly. If you need brass, lead or dies please inquire. Antique status in Canada, no PAL required to purchase or own. Will include an RCMP FRT printout showing antique status in Canada. $1825 includes Free Shipping. If you have any questions or need more pictures or video please feel free to ask.
