Remington 1858 Army New Model Revolver in 44 Percussion, 8" barrel, 6 shot. These Remington Army revolvers were one of the most common sidearms seen on Civil War battlefields and were often preferred over the Colt 44 Army Model as the Remington used a thick topstrap whereas the Colt did not. All 3 hammer clicks are present. Timing is good. Lockup has play and will need gunsmit attention prior to attempting to fire. Exterior has pitting and traces of a previous non original dark coating. Cylinder nipples are all present, they show expected wear. Bore shows common wear for a vintage revolver. Original grips are in good shape, left grip has the visible military inspector cartouche. If only this revolver could talk! Antique status in Canada, no PAL required to purchase or own. Will include an RCMP FRT printout showing antique status in Canada. $1795 includes Free Shipping.
