Webley Mark 2, 45/455, Antique Status

Webley Mark 2 Service Revolver. These Webley MK Series revolvers are very well built with long service history throughout many conflicts. 4" barrel, 6 shot. Cylinder has been shaved to accept 45ACP reduced power handloads with use of included moon clips, as well 455 Webley can be used with included spacer ring, 45 Auto rim can also be used with no need for moon clips or spacer rings. The ability to use 3 different 45 cal brass! Many of the Webley's had their cylinders lightly machined to accept 45 after import as surplus into North America in the 1950's as original 455 was obsolete. This revolvers cylinder shaving is not overly deep, as such 455 with spacer ring is firm, 45ACP handloads with  moon clips seems to like new starline brass albeit still firm whereas other brass can be to firm or not able to cycle, 45 Auto Rim cycles great. The action on this piece functions well in single and double action. Timing and lockup are good. Exterior has extensive military unit/date markings that will make for interesting research! Ejector works well as it should and lifts upon barrel tilt to eject brass and snaps back in place upon full barrel tilt. Bore and cylinder walls are in good shape and show well. Original grips are in great shape, lanyard ring is intact. Serial numbers match on frame, barrel and cylinder. Antique status in Canada, no PAL required to purchase or own.
