Looking to sell or trade for an antique cartridge gun or milsurp. Pretty much anything except a Vetterli unless you have one that's been converted to centerfire. Sorry, not looking to do a ship trade.
It's an antique Belgian cape gun, make unknown - unless the letters 'LD' or 'IV' mean anything as there were so many different gunmakers in Liege at the time. In decent shape considering it's probably 160 years old, or older.
30" twist steel barrels, with calibers marked on the underside with the rest of the proofmarks. The right bore is a 12ga smoothbore, the left side is approximately .41 cal, I haven't made a bore cast for the rifle bore but with hand calipers it comes out to 0.4105" or so. I have shot .405 round balls through it with a heavy patch just to be safe. There is a small ding in the top of the shotgun barrel, but does not protrude into the bore. The nipples will need replaced by this point.
The rifle barrel is equipped with a set trigger which works great and has a nice crisp break. It's adjustable with a tiny screw inside the trigger guard. It has plain, non-adjustable buckhorn open sights. Looks like there was a spot where a dovetail was filled in, either at the factory or sometime in the last century. The action is nice and tight.
The stock is pretty beat up, with lots of obvious wear and nicks and dings and there's a couple splinters of wood missing in the forend - but no major structural issues that I could find. It has something of a cheek piece. Crescent butt plate. Steel ramrod.
No PAL required, true antique status.
Located in the GTA but can travel a bit to meet. Shipping available. As mentioned before I'm not doing ship trades, sorry. Price negotiable.
