London Double Flip Barrel Muff Pistols Open To Offers
Believed to be a London produced gun by the hallmark Crown Crossed Scepters. The owner has scrubbed it so hard over time that almost 100% of the box casing engraving has disappeared. The Muff Pistol is a turn over double barreled style. Circa 1820-1840. Barrels are free for removing. Both nipples are in good condition & barrels rotate freely.
It features double barrels, and a single trigger / hammer, with a pivot allowing the barrel assembly to "turnover", bringing a loaded barrel into position after the first barrel was fired. These were quite popular for self-protection, and having two barrels. Two barrels definitely would give the owner increased protection. Pistols like this were equally at home on dark Streets of London in Victorian England. Asking $887 Plus Shipping
