History:

The Colt Model 1902 Military was an American semi-automatic pistol designed by John Moses Browning and manufactured by Colt from 1902 to 1928.

It was developed from the earlier Colt Model 1900 and chambered for the powerful .38 ACP cartridge. The Model 1902 Military introduced several improvements, including a larger grip, a slide stop, and a redesigned frame. Unlike the commercial Sporting Model, the Military version featured a lanyard loop and was intended for military evaluation and service use.

Although it was tested by the U.S. military and several foreign governments, the pistol was never adopted as a standard U.S. service sidearm. However, it played an important role in the evolution of Browning’s handgun designs and directly influenced later Colt pistols, including the Colt Model 1905 and ultimately the famous M1911.
