US Springfield model 1884 trap door in .45-70 government. 32.5 inch barrel. (Updated version of the 1873) Appears to be in good mechanical condition. Bluing has turned to blotches of patina and silver. Rifling is strong, but bore is a little dirty and frosty. I will clean it when I get a chance to, and update the ad if I find any additional information. US military markings throughout. Not a collectors item, but a good shooters grade example if you want to have fun with an antique cartridge gun! Originally came from a cowboy action shooter’s collection. Black powder or trap door safe loads only. Do not put modern hunting loads in this gun or you will destroy it. Has a built-in combination cleaning rod and bayonet.
