Winchester model 1873 made in 1880. Early production year. To the best of my knowledge, this would be an early second pattern rifle. Calibre designation stamping has worn off, but it appears to be a .44-40 win. 24 inch octagon barrel. The bluing has all worn to patina. Some has worn to silver on the sharp edges. The action is mechanically strong. Holds well on both half and full cock. Rifling is strong. Bore appears dirty and a little frosted. When I get a chance to clean it properly, I will update the ad with more information if I find any. Lots of dings and dents in the stock. One small crack in the fore end noted in pictures. Overall, good condition for its age.
