Lee Enfield, No 1 Mk V Trials Rifle made in 1922, bolt action, 303 British. For an excellent history of this rifle, check out Forgotten Weapons on the internet and the summary by Ian McCollum.
This rifle is complete, all numbers matching. Several handling marks as shown in the pics, no rust, no cracks, bore is in excellent condition.
After WW!, the British looked to apply the lessons of the war to development of a new infantry rifle. Trials were made on some Mk3 SMLE rifles refitted with rear aperture sights. This was designated the No 1 Mk V and 20,000 of them were made between 1922 and 1924.
This is a very scarce rifle and will make a great addition to a Lee Enfield collection.
Price $4,000-.
