US Remington M1917

Up for sale is a beautiful US Model of 1917 rifle manufactured by Remington in August 1918. This piece is in excellent overall condition with great historical character and an outstanding barrel. Remington produced significantly fewer M1917 rifles (approx. 545,000) compared to Eddystone (over 1.18 million). Finding a Remington example in this condition with a matching bolt and receiver is becoming increasingly difficult, making it a more desirable piece for serious US military surplus collectors.

Key Features:

• Manufacturer & Date: Remington. Barrel marked "8-18" (August 1918), indicating late WWI production.
• Matching Numbers: The bolt is serial-numbered to the receiver (see photos), a critical feature for collectors ensuring originality and correct headspace.
• Bore Condition: The bore is bright and mirror-like with strong, sharp rifling.
• Markings: Correct Remington "R" stamps and US "Flaming Bomb" ordnance proofs are clearly visible on the barrel, receiver, and bolt handle.
• Condition: The metal finish and wood stock are in great shape with honest handling marks.
• Note: There is a minor cosmetic scratch (~1cm) on the barrel near the muzzle, but it is purely superficial and does not affect function or accuracy.
