Russian Contract Type 38 Arisaka Carbine

This is an early production Type 38 Arisaka carbine (serial number in 25,000 block). It was sold out of service during WW1 to the Russian Empire, alongside 600,000 other Arisakas. This particular example came out of Finland.

The chrysanthemum is overstamped by the Tokyo arsenal symbol when the rifle was sold (stopped being in Emperor's service). It has the pre-1923 Arisaka markings.

This example comes with a dust cover and cleaning rod - features that most Arisakas are missing.
