Fairly rare, 1964 Savage 99 Featherweight model in the desirable .308 Winchester caliber, the perfect deer gun.

In overall good condition with normal wear, wood is in good shape aside from small hairline which they are notorious for, and a good chip at the wrist, can be seen in photos and will not affect shootability. Bluing is in good shape with some loss from carrying under the receiver, no pitting.

Bore is very strong as well as the action and the lockup is tight. Very accurate gun at 100 yards with open sights. Super light and nice to carry. Lever mechanism is oiled and in really nice shape, gun functions flawlessly. Has the Featherweight gold trigger, one of the best triggers on a lever gun i felt, very clean.

A very nice piece of history, has probably killed more deer than any gun I own.

Reason for selling is that I would like a gun that I can mount a scope to.
