Sporterized black powder Mauser 71/84.

It's an old sporter, not quite sure how else to describe the condition. Spandau manufacture, 1888 dated. The stock and magazine tube have been cut down (5 rds capacity) but the barrel is still the original 31.5". Bolt handle has been bent. Sling swivels have been added by Bubba. The majority of the remaining parts are matching to the serial number. Most of the factory blueing is still present, and is nice and dark on the underside, inside the stock. The exposed metals are browned with age. Stock appears to be spliced in a few locations. Bore is in really good shape and very shootable.

I've fired it a few times on some old Dominion ammo - the magazine with the cut spring doesn't always work as intended but you can always use the magazine cut-off and fire it as a single shot.  Included with the gun is a Lee reloading die set and 19 Bertram pre-formed .43 Mauser cases, as well as some .446 485 gr bullets. The missing case #20 got turned into a dummy round and can be included if you desire.

I bought this as a stockmaking project, but injured my hands at work and don't really feel like picking up woodworking right now. I can include a 52" blank of straight grained American black walnut for an additional fee if you wanted to try and build a proper stock for it.

Asking $350, price negotiable. Not looking for any trades except maybe for a Lyman tang sight for a Remington 8/81, or for .35 Rem ammo. PAL required as it has a magazine.

Prefer not to ship. Located in the GTA but can travel West to Guelph/Kitchener/Waterloo area or similar distance if needed.
