For sale is a classic, early production Remington Model 14 pump-action rifle. This rifle is chambered in the original .30 Remington caliber (marked "30 REM" on the barrel).
- Approx. Manufacture Date: Circa 1917-1918
- Design: The rifle uses an innovative spiral-grooved tubular magazine that cants each cartridge slightly, preventing the tip of one pointed bullet from resting on the primer of the next, which was a safety feature that allowed the use of modern spitzer (pointed) ammunition.
- Sight: The rifle is equipped with a high-quality vintage Redfield No. 102 receiver aperture (peep) sight, an excellent and sought-after period correct upgrade over the standard barrel sight.
- Condition: The rifle is in good overall condition for its age, with visible wear on the finish, bluing, and stock as seen in the photos. The action is smooth and functional, requiring a positive "slam" motion to fully lock up, a known characteristic of the design.
Note: The barrel bears a "LB3" stamp which indicates a factory re-work or service performed in February 1955.
