A hand detailed and hand polished commercial FN ’98 action with it’s original trigger and safety shroud. The bolt has been hot blued after polishing. Comes with bases and rings. The rings have been lapped for stress-free scope mounting. The original base holes were off center so Jan Kolenbrander (worked with Ralf Martini for some years) tig welded the holes. The work left a slight blemish which is covered by any scope bases. The work of course is top notch just cosmetically blemished. The holes are now properly drilled and tapped.
The barrel is a FN stepped 30-06 barrel with only a few rounds through it. I found it heavily jacket fouled so I was thinking of replacing it before custom stocking it. Though it fouled it still was accurate. The project is not going to happen as I am narrowing down to using two other custom “98 mausers for hunting. At my age this is enough.
Action is ready for custom stocking. See my ad regarding a hinged floorplate which I have for sale. It will fit this action and I intended it for this action.
