A Mauser Karabiner 98k (K98k) marked with "S/237" is a highly sought-after, early-WWII German service rifle. The "S/237" is a World War II manufacturer code for Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabrik (BLM), located in Lübeck, Germany.
The "S" prefix was a standard secret coding practice used in the mid-1930s by the German Army (Wehrmacht) to hide the true identities of arms manufacturers
Matching serial numbers including internal trigger, 4 x bolt, receiver, barrel, rear sight, 2x magazine plate, and magazine upper plate. The barrel bands are hard to read but are correct machined parts for 1937. Dirty birds 🐦 🐦⬛ are clear and untouched. The stock is correct laminated for first year 1937 and is marked under correct flat buttstock plate as 1942.
Bore is shiny and good ++ and is 89 years young...
