Rare Vietnam era unissued, and unfired Chinese Type 56 "SKS" marked with "25 triangle" meaning it was produced by Factory 256 which was a major manufacturer of SKS rifles in China at the Jianshe Machine Tool Factory, and the serial number puts its manufactured date as made in 1972.
This rifle has all the serial numbers matching throughout and features factory issued military sling, and oiler, and spike bayonet.
This rifle maintains the high quality of the Chinese military grade standards during the conflict era and were exported in great quantities to the Vietcong, during the Indo China conflicts.
This rifle is now 53 years old and shares its legacy to war time action. This rifle was a direct copy of the Soviet SKS carbine. The Type-56 was used in huge numbers during the Vietnam War by Viet Cong forces. Even though most movies and documentaries show Vietcong forces using the AK47 rifle, the Type-56 was actually issued in larger quantities to the guerilla soldiers.
I have had some comments why the 1972 is rare, when the factory 26 stopped producing the 300, 000 /year Type 56 to start producing AK47s in 1969, the Type 56 rifles were then produced by smaller factories producing 10, 000 /year and being supplied to the Vietnam conflict, so to get an unissued, and unfired rifle from this time period is rare.
