Fully restored US Springfield 1898 Krag Carbine with the walnut wood stock as per the original issue, I have read that after the Spanish American war that the arsenal modified several thousand of the long Krag's into carbines as this one has factory front sights and is the carbine 22 1/4 in barrel length.
