🇺🇸 M1903 Springfield 1918 — High-Number | Excellent Condition
Beautiful 1918-dated M1903 Springfield, 800,000-series high-number receiver, manufactured using the double heat-treatment process. This is a very clean and attractive rifle with an excellent bore, sharp rifling and excellent crown.
The double heat-treated high-number receiver is regarded as a much safer receiver design than the early single-heat-treated M1903s, and the rifle is suitable for standard modern .30-06 Springfield ammunition.
Highlights:
- 1918 M1903 Springfield
- 800,000-series high-number receiver
- Double heat-treated receiver
- Excellent bore, sharp rifling and excellent crown
- 1943-dated replacement barrel from the WWII period
- New Old Stock “Scant” stock — like new
- M1907-style reproduction leather sling
- Original front sight protector included
- Brand-new rear sight ladder base included
Condition: Very clean overall. There are some gouges/scuff marks around the “Springfield” markings on the upper receiver. The receiver was also black-painted at some point during its life; this can be removed if desired.
The rear sight currently has a small amount of left/right movement. A brand-new ladder sight base is included to resolve this minor issue.
Overall, a very nice, clean and desirable M1903 Springfield, with an excellent bore and crown, beautiful like-new stock, and a desirable high-number double heat-treated receiver. A great-looking rifle with plenty of original military character.
