Winchester Model 70 in 30-06, made in 1947. Has the club-shaped tang and bear paw shaped safety of a transitional model, but this is the first year they were drilled and tapped for modern scope mounts.
Bluing is great. Bore is great. Looks like a very low mileage rifle. Thre are a few small, light dings on the stock and it looks like someone slipped with a punch while drifting the rear sight at some point but finish is otherwise awesome. Action works nice and smooth, cycles and ejects like it should. I was able to shoot 1.5 to 2 inch groups with the irons were aprox 2 inches high with my 180gr load at 100 yards. Pretty much perfect. Shot higher with lighter ammo, with the sight bottomed out.
Has a Pachmayr Decelerator pad installed, fit isnt perfect but was close enough for me. Believe the stock is cut. 13.5" LOP. Theres a small crack behind the tang that looks like it was repaired/epoxy filled. It was stable.
